* Roghayeh Najdi Featured in “Mothering” Exhibition at VHC | Vida Heydari Contemporary, Pune

AVA Gallery is delighted to share that our artist Roghayeh Najdi is participating in the group exhibition “Mothering”, on view at VHC | Vida Heydari Contemporary in Pune from August 2 to September 5, 2025.
“Mothering” brings together works by Aravani Art Project, Chathuri Nissansala, Liactuallee, Shivangi Ladha—and Roghayeh Najdi—within an intimate curatorial framework that reimagines motherhood as a radical and expansive form of care, resilience, and chosen kinship.
Najdi’s contribution to the exhibition underscores her powerful visual lexicon: her paintings gather women together, rendered as negative silhouettes—a poignant reflection on the suppression of female identity in contemporary Iran. Flourishing flowers adorn her canvases, evoking motifs of strength, collective nurturing, and resistance.
This exhibition offers a compelling and transnational perspective, positioning Najdi among an international cohort of artists redefining caregiving and solidarity across cultural contexts. “Mothering” invites audiences to consider alternative forms of connection—formed out of empathy, survival, and shared humanity.
